PROGRESS WITH WORKS. _ i REPORT MADE TO BOARD. Various harbour construction works were reported upon by the superintendent and engineer, Mr. D. Hcldarness, at a meeting of the Auckland Harbour Board this afternoon. Mr. Holderness said that at the boat, harbour, at St. Mary's Bay, the dredge had pumped a further 7600 yards of filling, making a total of 183.100 cubic yards to date. Work on the roiiiforced concrete viaduct was pro<r retain jr. ami jO per cent of the piers had been completed. At the new H>,sori Stieet wharf (19.7 per cent cf the decking had been completed, and 71 per cent of the timliering tendering. At the breastwork, at the east of King's Wharf, a start had been made on false-work, and the fabrication of steel ior sheet piles. The multiple wire telephone system, installed on the main wharves for the Awatea, had been extended for use by the Matson linere. At the eastern breakwater, trimming of the stone-bank had been commenced, and approximately three-quarters of the surplus stone had been removed for a length of 250 feet.
