Sir William Seeds to Go to
Moscow. DISTINGUISHED CAREER. (Received 1.30 p.m.) LONDON. August 15. Sir William §eeds has been appointed British Ambassador at Moscow in succession to Viscount Chilston, who is retiring at the end of the year. Sir William Seeds entered the Diplomatic Service in 1904. He served at Washington, Peking, Athens, Lisbon, Berlin and Munich. He was British Minister at Bogota (Colombia), 192325; Caracas, 1925-26; Durazzo (Albania), 1926-28. He was British High Commissioner in the Rhineland from 19281930 and served as British Ambassador to Brazil from 1930-35. £ir William, who is 56 years of age, was knighted in 1930.
