SOCIAL EVENING.
FUNCTION AT OSTEND,
Arranged T>y the Ostend Progressive Association, a most enjoyable function, which took the form of a dance and card evening, was held at the Ostend Hall last Saturday evening. Entertaining items were presented by Miee Chapman '(Auckland) and Miss Marie Neate. The president of the association, Mrs. H. E. McGowan, and ladies of the committee presented prize* to the following:—Five hundred, Mrs. McLean and Mr. M. Conway; consolation, Mrs. Cooper and Mr. F. Lang; special prizes, Messrs. F. L. Cooper, H. Corrigan and Geoff. Speight; Monte Carlo, Mrs. Natzke and Mrs. Edmonds; statue dance, Mrs. Neate and ,Mr. Hill.
