EXPORTS AND IMPORTS. HEAVY "ADVERSE" BALANCE. LONDON, July 14. The British Board of Trade returns for June show that the value of imports was £76,502,000, exports £36,893,000, and reexport* £4,987,000. Principal increases, compared with June, 1937, were:—lmports: Dairy produce, £840,000; beverages, £591,000. Exports: Machinery, £663,000; vehicles, £970,000. Decreases—lmports: Wood and timber, £1.890,000; cotton and raw waste, £1,992.000; wool and raw waste, £1,432,000; hides and gkine, £897,000; iron and eteel. £694,000; non-ferroue metals, manufactures, £2,112.000; oils, fate and resins, manufactured, £1,170,000. Exporte: Iron "and steel manufactures, £1,064.000; cotton and yarns mnnufaciurte, £2,166,000; woollen and worsted manufactures, £1.182,000: other textiles. £734.000; chemicals and dyes, £591,000, Re-exports: Rub"ber, £483,000; non-ferrous metals manufactures, £539,000.
