WHALE'S JOURNEY.
HALF-WAY ROUND GLOBE. WORK OF RESEARCH SHIP. CAPETOWX. The whajing research ship, Discovery 11., returned to Simonstown after five months' work in the Antarctic. The Discovery's main task in the Antarctic is to collect data bearing on the numbers, and the annual migration, of whales. Specially-prepared tags are fired into whales to enable their move-! ments to be traced. ' In one case, a whale marked off the Falkland Islands' was captured three months later off the Australian coast, having travelled half-way round the globe.
