CAPTAIN'S PRIZE.

THE MIDDLEMORE FINAL. R. A. WILSON BEATS B. H. MENZIES. The filial of the captain's prize of the Auckland Golf Club was won hy R. A. Wilson (4.1, who beat B. H. Menzies (.2) 3 and 2. Wilson won the first hole. Menzies bci»K hunkered, hut neither player was able to obtain tours at the next three holes. Wilson played a brilliant iron to within a yard of the pin to win the fifth, making him 2 up. Wilson then three-putted to lose the sixth, and Alenziis missed a chance at the next, when he t hrcc-put ted and then missed a short putt for a half at the eighth. Wilson became 2 up tt hen he holed a good putt for 2 at the tenth.
