PAKURANGA HUNT.
MEET ABANDONED. The wet weather of the past few days caused an abandonment of the Pakuranga Hunt Club's plane for Saturday. It was found that farm lands were too wet and soggy for a hunt to be held without inconvenience to farmers, and so hounds were taken for an exercise outing along the roads from Kelly's Corner. Horses were also exercised. WIN WAS IMPRESSIVE. The southern hurdler Spender did not have to contend with strong opposition when he won the Hawke's Bay Hurdles last month. However, he won with a lot in reserve and a good future is predicted for him. Spender has only 21b above the minimum in the Trentham Hurdles next week and is likely to be hard to beat i under his light impost. * '
