SUBSIDISED STALLIONS.

COMMITTEE APPOINTED, i ______ (From Our Own Correspondent.) ' MATAMATA, Friday. A circular letter from the Racing , Conference which was read at the annual meeting of the Matamata A. and P. Association referred to the proposals to subsidise suitable stallions in each district with a view to improving the standard of hacks. ,It was intimated that Major-General Young would visit the district shortly, and it was hoped that a local committee would be set up to assist him. .
