Since the dam was ready for use in 1002 at Okehu, the headworks of the Wanganui water supply, regular rainfall i ecords have been kept, and the readings of these are generally much higher than at Wanganui itself, the watershed being subject to more local rains. The recordings for May last were the lowest on record, being 2.58 in. The next lowest reading was 2.81 in in 1919 and the highest 9.89 in in May, 102 C.
