I Arrest of Multi-Millionaire in Paris. SWEEPING ALLEGATIONS. i (Received 11 a.m.) | PARIS. June 8. The Paris Surete believes (lie arrest of the multi-millionaire restaurateur Louis Lyon, aped r>o, unmasks the \ world's greatest drug smuggling ring. The coup is the outcome of 10 years' patient investigation and the co-opera-tion of the Surete, Scotland Yard and American G-men. Many arrests are expected, including former holders of high political officers all over Europe. The police declare it Is established that Lyon had as accomplice a Peruvian diplomat, Carlo Bacula, who was recently arrested at Zurich. Diplomatic valises were used to convey enormous quantities of drugs across frontiers. Lyon is reported to have employed a corps of women who travelled the world carrying drugs. The Surete asked Scotland Yard to J interview Yitorine Salti, supposed to J be a British subject, who consented J to go to Paris to submit to questioning. i Victor Casanave, Lyon's brother-in-I law, told the examining magistrate that I Lyon used Casanave's restaurant near I the British Embassy as a distributing centre. Casanave's suspicions were [ aroused after the sudden death in 1932 of his brother, the founder of the restaurant, as the result of which an immense fortune went to Lyon's wife.
