(Riccived 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, June 1. A national =trike involving 350,000 fing-infrris thousands of whom are engaged on rearmament, was averted by one vote nt the annual meeting of the Amalgamated Engineering Union. The question of wages was at issue.
Tlip president, Mr. Little, intervened in tin- debate on three occasions, warnin? the delegates against the grave decision which appeared certain.
The vote ngaiimt the strike was 20 to 19.
