BUS LEAVES ROAD.

PASSENGERS SHAKEN.

PARTY OF YOUNG PEOPLE.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)

WHAXGAREI, this day.

While going to a rally at Maungaturoto last evening a bus containing 36 young people from Whangarei left the road about four miles on the north side of Maungaturoto.

Meeting another car on the road at about 8 p.m., the bus went too far off the road and almost capsized on a eteep slope. The passengers, realising their danger, swung their weight on to one side of the vehicle, and by this means assisted the driver in keeping the vehicle upright. Although no one was injured, all the passengers received a severe shaking.
