BATHS FOR SCHOOLS.
WORK BY UNEMPLOYED.
EDUCATION BOARD IDEA
"There is nothing to prevent the Government supplying good swimming baths in every school by means of the unemployed," said Mr. W. I. Bowyer, at today's meeting of the Auckland Education Board when a letter was received from the Auckland branch of the National Committee of Swimming and Life-saving, containing a copy of a report on the local "Lear'i to Swim" campaign held last December. Mr. W. J. Campbell suggested the resurrection of the swimming capitation 'grant that was formerly available for schools. The Hon. A. Burns, M.L.C.. said that at one time only three schools had applied for it, but there had later been an increase. The letter was received.
