LOSES HIS PULSE.
DOCTORS BAFFLED. INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALLER RIGHT ABM GOES NUMB. (Special.—By Air Mall.) LONDON, April 30. Roy J. Matthews, English amateur , international Soccer player, who was a member of the team which toured New ! Zealand and Australia last year, has lost his pulse. Doctors are baffled by his mysterious illness. Six months ago he found his right arm was continually going numb. He was told he mujst give up football indefinitely. For two weeks doctors studied the phenomenon, found the numbness was due to the fact that his pulse appeared to be non-existent. Mr. Matthews returned to his work a« a post office sorter. Last week he waa ordered into hospital again. More treatment and medicines were administered. "The doctors don't know what to make of me," he said this week. "Never before has a. pulse been known to disappear so entirely. However, it seems to be coming back now, and I hope to be out in about a week."
