MORNING TEA.
PARENTS ENTERTAINED. The end of term morning tea. when the ladies' committee of the Institute for the Care of Backward Children entertained the parents, was held in the school. Belgium Street, vesterdav.
The president. Miss R. Carnackun. outlined the aims a n<l. objects of the institute and spoke in terms of appreciation of the interest taken and financial assistance given, by the Hon. \V. E. Parry, which ha.l made possible so many improvements. Mrs. K. O'Halloraii." lion, treasurer, showed the amount of money expended on various additions to the equipment an<l handwork material, and also on school uniforms. Mrs. R. E. Dowding spoke of the medical, dental and optical services which have been arranged by the committee. Mrs. S. Ker.nings. Miss F. Waddinghuiu and Miss K. Kennedy aNo spoke on different matters affecting the work of the institute.
An expression of appreciation from the parents was presented by Mrs. Cnttre>s, while Mrs. MeCosh spoke of the gratitude of the parents a n<l pa i<l a tribute to the tine work of the teachers in the school, Miss M. Lang and Miss M. Fish.
Other committee members assisting with the tea were Mrs. J. <;. Hopkins and Mrs. J. C. (Julliver. The morning concluded with an entertainment by the children, when eongs, dances ami items by the percussion band were rendered.
