HUNTLY DEADLOCK.

SFCRETARY VISITS MINES.

WORK MAY RESUME TO-MORROW.

The secretary of the United Mine Workers' Union, Mr. A. McLagen, is visiting the Huntly district to discuss with the coal miners the deadlock which has caused a cessation of work at five of the coal mines in the Huntly district. This morning he addressed a wellattended meeting at Huntly which lasted two hours, and in the afternoon attended other meetings of miners.

The result of the meetings will not he known until this evening, but it is hoped that as a result of Mr. McLagen's visit work will be resumed to-morrow morning.
