FAMILY REUNION

The Y.W.C.A. social hall was a scene on a recent afternoon of a liappy gathering of relations, who gave a surprise party in honour of Mrs. Fogarty to celebrate her seventy-eighth birthday. Mrs. R. C. Saxon (daughter), of Morrinsville, received the guests, after which the proceedings opened with a chorus of voices singing, "It's My Mother's Birthday Today," and then a number of floral emblems and bouquets were presented to the guest of honour, who was genuinely surprised and pleased. Photographs were taken on tlie balcony during the afternoon. Several items rendered by Mr. Stan Pritchard, Mr. John Bond, Mr. Leon Gribble and Miss Marjorie Jackson were much appreciated. Opportunity was taken to wish Mr. John Bond, the young Auckland bass-baritone, a titting fare--1 well and good wishes on his departure to London to continue his musical ' studies.
