THAMES TROTS.

GAY SISTER'S CUP. Our War the Turua—Within Takes Parawai. The Thames Trot ti up Club was favoured with fine weather for it* annual meeting at Parawai racecourse to-day. There was a large attendance and the course was in excellent order. Isabella Pointer was never further hack than fourth in the Hikutaia Handicap when the field settled down, and although she met with slight interference in the straight =he finished attractively to score easily. John's Last paced his best race to date, while Bonny Pointer only faded in the last half-furlong, after leading nearly all the way. The favourite. Captain Scott, ruined his prospects by a had break after going halt" a furlong. Transwell and Agnes Bingen broke at the start, Bonny Pointer leading out from Tommy ilclilwyn. this pair being followed along the back by Lady Potts. Isabella Pointer, .John's Last, Yanora and Jewel Crest. Lady Potts made a forward move across the top and joined Bonny Pointer, this pair leading into the straight from John's Last. Isabella Pointer. Yanora, Wall Street and Captain Scott. Isabella Pointer came through lialf-way.down to win bv half a length from John's Last, who was a length in front of Bonny Pointer. Yanora was a fair fourth, with Forest Jewel. Lady Potts, Captain Scott, and Terra plane next. Scored Very Easily. Although breaking on two occasions. Within had too much speed for the opposition in - the Parawai Handicap, and over the last furlong enme right away and went on to win comfortably. Corona Beir ran a fine race, and only weakened over the final half-furlong. Real Red trotted splendidly after losing a lot of ground at. the start, but the -others never threatened danger. Real Red and Mosterman broke at the start, and passing the stands Moira Bingen was three lengths clear of Elliotvale, who was 20 lengths ahead of Corona Bell, Within and Barney Bingen. Except that the field closed up along the back, there was no alteration, though Within made a slight lapse at this stage. Elliotvale and Within were on terms at the home turn, where Elliotvale broke badlv, and Within went on to win by two lengths and a half from Corona Bell, who beat Real Red by four lengths. Then caiue Moira Bingen. Elliotvale, Flash Bve and Dilfashion.

Patiently Driven. Our War was very patiently handled until three furlongs from home in the Tiirua Bracelet when he was taken to the front, and although he made a *li»ht hreak 50 yards from the post it made no difference to the result for he won nicely. Lennku. the favourite, ran a splendid race for a three-vear-old and fought on solidly, while Bronze Queen made up a lot of ground over the last half mile to finish third. Our Summer had every chance. Wrack less broke at the start and Maiulalav earlv established a lead of 1(1 lengths l.ver Our Summer. Il" f « , War - Kaitawa, Roman tlnef. Red lord and Petite .lewd, who was not pacing evenly.
