Saturday's Weddings.
PEARSON— WALKER.
All Saints' Church, Ponsonby, was the setting on Saturday evening for the I wedding of Dallas Mary .Lyle, elder daughter of Mr. H. Walker and' the late Mis. Walker, and granddaughter of Mrs. H. Clark, "Kolianga," Hamilton Road, Heme Bay, to Arthur Frederick, youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Pearson, of Cliristehurch. The Rev. Canon R. G. Coats performed the ceremony. White flowers and soft foliage were used with artistry on the altar and chancel. A beautiful gown of pearl-toned souple satin was worn by the bride, who was given away bv her unclc. Mr. Owen Clark. Fashioned on classical lines, the corsage had a softlv draped cowl neckline and sleeves which were gathered ir. soft folds to the elbow and tight-fitting t . the wrists. The back on the gown was cut in a long panel from the shoulders and fell into an oval train. The veil of hand-embroidered pearltoned tulle w.is worn with a liead-dre*.« of seed pearls and orange blossom buds and a bouquet of lilium auratum was carried.
The two bridesmaids, Miss Betty j Walker and Miss Gladys Hardy (Hastings), were dressed alike in picture frocks of pale maize crepe niuon over satin. The full sun-ray pleated skirts fell from swathed bodices with ehort sleeves, and the waistlines were defined with self-coloured sashes. They wore short veils, of pale maize tulle, held with a circlet of rosebuds, and carried bouquets of lilium auratum. x The bridegroom was attended hv Mr. Herbert Batten as best man and by Mr. F. Doidge as groomsman. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride"-* grandmother, where the rooms wer? charmingly arranged with large bowls of summer flowers. To receive the guests Mrs. Clark wore a gown of black flamisol silk patterned with white roses and a small black toque. She carried a bouquet of red roees and carnations. Mrs. F. Doidge, aunt of the bride, was in a silver grey lace over opal pin satin, with a swathed sash of matching pink satin. She wore t- corsage spray of palepink begonias. Mrfl. R. H, Stables, aunt of the bride, wore a delphinium blue Chmy lace gown with a spray of matching flowers. Mrs. F. Hardy (Hastings), cousin of the bride, was in a beige georgette and lace gown.
