I In general it" seemed that Germanv felt that she woaM not get .nything if she did not take it, said Mr. HußettShe was cynical of offers of help, and felt that tie League of Nations was a machine to be worked to her disadvantage. Her desire to obtain .colonies j j was based on the feeling that raw ] ! materials, rather than markets, were | what was required, an attitude which j again indicated a preparation for war. j Apart from this there was a feeling of national pride that Germany was a fipt-rate Power, and should have colonies. There was no reasoning with the Germans over this 'attitude, and thev were confident that they would obtain j what they wanted.
