WOMEN'S INSTITUTES.
Auckland Centre.—Members of the Auckland Centre Women's Institute entertained Mrs. Harold Davis at an afternoon tea in the board room of the Farmers' Trading Company. Mrs. Davis occupied the position of secretary for several years, and on her removal to Christclurch was appointed secretarv of the North- Canterbury District Federation of Women's Institutes. The president, Mrs. C. M. Neal, when welcoming Mrs. Davis, referred to the pleasure experienced by Auckland members when they heard of her promotion. An enjoyable programme included items by Mesdames R. Browne. Bush, Brittain, Kendall Rothery, and Miss Oberg, and Mesdames de Monfalk and Kendall were the accompanists. .
