LONG-AWAITED COMEDY. Jack Benny, reputed to be the most highly-paid entertainer in the world, heads a distinguished cast of players in the musical feature, "Artists and Models," which wrll have its local premiere at the Kegent Theatre to-morrow. Ida Lupino, (jail 1 atrick and Richard Arlen appear w i , a *ured roles, and the entertainers include Ben Blue. Judy Canova, the Yacht Club Boys and Hedda Hopper. Specialities are given by Andre Kostelanetz, Russell Paterson's "Personettes," Connie Boewell, Sandra Storme, Britain's meet beautiful model, known as "Miss Perfection, and eix of America s finest artists, Russell Paterson, McClelland Barclay, John La Gatta, Peter Arno, Arthur William Brown and Rube Goldberg. Five new song numbers are played, and of these "Whispers in the Dark." "Pop Goes the Bubble," "Sasha Pasha" and Air. Esquire, are claimed to be among the best tunes of the season. From glowing reports given this film overseas, it appears to be one of the year's best musicals. It certainly has a galaxy of starring material, and with Jack' Bennv's dominant personality in the lead it should not disappoint Auckland theatre patrons. The story concerns the efforts of Bennv to build up a huge advertising scheme by using Ida Lupino, a beautiful model, as the centre of a publicity campaign advertising a certain product. Unfortunately both players become entangled in a series of complicated love affaire, with hilarious results. Benny ha* a tremendous task to steer event* back to their normal trend.
