WOOL INDUSTRY.

PUBLICITY AND RESEARCH

(Received 2 p.m.) LONDON, January 4. Details of the programme of scientific research were approved at a joint meeting of the International Wool Publicity and Research Secretariat, including the New Zealanders, Messrs. F. Dutoit and R. S. Forsyth. The programme will be put invo operation as soon as it is considered by the executive committee. Some of the more important problems of economic research will be investigated immediately as a preliminary. Detailed plans were approved of the wool pavilion at Glasgow Exhibition. A draft for co-ordinating of the activities of the Secretariat with those of the International Wool and Textile Organisation was also accepted for submission to the executive committee.

Establishment of a joint technical committee is contemplated to enable producers and manufacturers to discuss common problems.
