TO LAST DITCH.

Stabilisation Fund to be

Defended.

U.S. ADMINISTRATION.

(Received 12 noon.)

LONDON, December 28.

There is no disposition to favour an international conference to discuss a return to the gold standard.

Mr. Henry Morgenthau, Secretary to the Treasury, stated that the Treasury was definitely opposed to Dr. van Zeeland's reported control plan.
