Defended.

LONDON, December 28.
The "New \ork Times" Washington correspondent says it is increasingly evident that the monetary authorities are very pleased at the stabilisation fund, despite Wall Street criticism of its secret workings, and are likely to defend it to the last ditch.
There is no disposition to favour an international conference to discuss a return to the gold standard.
Mr. Henry Morgenthau, Secretary to the Treasury, stated that the Treasury was definitely opposed to Dr. van Zeeland's reported control plan.
