BREACH OF ACT.

ASSISTANTS' HOURS.

A Papakura grocer-manager, Allan Gordon Markwick, was fined 20/ and costs in the Papakura Police Court yesterday for employing assistants after statutory hours on Saturday.

Mr. K. S. Shorter, for the Labour Department, said as a result of complaints he kept the shop under observation and saw goods delivered after the shop had closed, and two assistants walk out at 12.50 p.m. instead of the statutory time.
