ARTILLERY RESERVE.
ADDITIONAL TRAINEES. (From Our Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, Sundav. A further batch of artillery special reserve trainees for Auckland «nd Wellington will be called for in February, according to an announcement by Major-General J. E. Duigan, chief of the general staff, after he had inspected ihe reservists in training at Fort Dorset and watched them carry out a pracice shoot. About 70 men would be required r.t Auckland and 75 at Wellington, said Major-General Duigan, and further' uroups would probably go into t-ainina in May and September. In each case the training would extend ov month*, and would include practical training on rfiins of the type u«»?d en the coastal defences. A nitmbei wo'ilri be selected, as in the case of the pre sent trainees, to replace the wastage in the Royal New Zealand Artillery. 'Ihrest would return to private life. Sut would be required to attend ten day courses each year for three year* ar.d to present themselves for service in case of emergency.
