SCENIC DRIVE SECTION.
TITIRANGI TO WAIATARUA,
The new Titirangi-Waiatarua section of the Waitakere Scenic Drive will not be open to motor traffic during the summer holidays, according to a statement made to-day at the district office of the Public Works Department. The department warned that people who attempted to use the roadway would be held guilty of trespass. When the workmen cease for the holidays the road will still be in a dangerous condition as far as public use is concerned, it is stated, because of the risk of slips and fire. The department intends to block the section by erecting barriers, and it asks for the co-operation of motorists while the work is still in an incompleted state. There is no objection, however, to motorists using that part of the drive between Titirangi and the Shore Road junction, from which attractive views of the kauri lands and the Titirangi area are obtainable. The return journey can be made through Glen Eden.
