MEETING OF ASSOCIATION.
NEXT CARNIVAL AT KI.T/F.RKT.VF The South Suburban Association met last evening at Otahuhu, the chairman, Mr. J. Clark, presiding. The secretary, Mr. Ivan Kelly, presented a report on the Papatoetoe carnival. It stated that the organisation has been good and the sixty events were run without a hitch. Mr. Kelly stated that over 100 young athletes took part in the games, which augurs well for tMfe coming meeting in the New year. A keen discussion took place on the future carnivals, and it was resolved to add an opening march of contestants with their club banners. It was decided to hold the next sports carnival at Ellerslie on Monday evening, January 17, and a programme was arranged to be submitted to the Ellerslie Club for confirmation. Mr. P. Wright brought up the question of obtaining permits for starting pistols. The assistance of the Hon. W. E. Parry, Minister of Internal Affairs, ie to be sought in obtaining permits for an extra pistol for each club. The inquiry into the disqualification of two runners at last Tuesday's sports was held over until a report is received from the association's referee, Mr. A. Lambert.
