ELEVEN YEARS IN OFFICE. PRESENTATION TO MR. J. E. LEKSON. (From Our Own Correspondent.) MORRINSVILLE, Thursay. On the occasion of his retirement from the office of chairman of directors of the Morrinsvilel Co-operative Dairy Company, which he lias tilled since 1926, Mr. J. E. Leeson was this afternoon the recipient of presentations from the COO suppliers of the company. Mr. Leeson was presented with an illuminated address and a grandfather clock, while a silver tea and coffee service was presented to Mrs. Leeson, and a gold wristlet watch to Miss Mary Leeson. '1 he presentation was made by a committee of suppliers who had been appointed at the annual meeting of the company in July, when regret was expressed that Mr. Leeson had decided not to ofTer himself for re-election owing to increasing years. Mr. Leeson still remains a memlior of the board of directors. In deference to Mr. Leeson's wishes no public ceremony was held, the presentation being made in the boardroom of the company's new office. Mr. B. O'Rrien, one of the senior suppliers of the company, expressed the regret felt throughout the district that Mr. Leeson had found it necessary to retire from the chairmanship. Mr. Leeson. he said, had been a pioneer dairy farmer of the Morrinsville district 34 years ago. He had been a provisional director when the Morrinsville company was formed 17 years ago. and he had been chairman for the past 11 years. Suppliers appreciated the time and thought he had devoted to the company, and wished him and Mrs. Leeson many years of health and happiness. In replying, Mr. Leeson said he considered that he should give way to younger men. He would treasure the gifts as being an expression of the goodwill of his fellow shareholders aad suppliers.
