ACCIDENT FIGURES.
MARCH-NOVEMBER PERIOD. , The latest statistics released by the Transport Department covering accident reports received from March 15 to November 30 reveal that in 2501 traffic accidents occurring during that period 147 persons were killed and 3056 injured. The figures show that of the 147 persons killed 47 were passengers, 38 pedestrians, 2(> drivers and 18 cyclists.
Of the persons killed and injured, the majority (1203) were between 2"> years and 54 years. Children killed or injured totalled 837. Of 2.-)01 accidents, 1482 occurred in urban areas. 1413 in daylight, 13»f at dusk, and 902 after dark.
