STRONG RESENTMENT IN U.S.A.
(Received 9.30 a.m.)
WASHINGTON, December 7,
Ostensibly referring to regular broadcasts to Latin-America from Fascist and Communist countries in Europe, which it is known are causing concern to officials, the Under-Secretary' of States, Mr. Welles, in an address inveighed against alien propaganda.
He strongly reaffirmed the Monroe doctrine, adding that "any attempt on the part of non-American Powers to exert, through force, their political or material influence in the American continents, would immediately be a matter of prravest concern, not only to the Lnited States, but to every other American Republic, and appropriate action undoubtedly xyould be immediately taken as a result of common consultation between them."
