EXPERTS SILENT ON CYGNDS WRECKAGE.
AMAZING DAMAGE.
Secret Inquiry Into Crash At Brindisi.
POLICE GUARD DERELICT.
United Press Association.—Copyright. (Received 1 p.m.) LONDON, December 7. The "Daily Telegraph" correspondent at Brindisi says that the Empire flying boat Cvgnus is still heavily guarded by police.
It is revealed that both wings were torn out of their sockets, the nose smashed off, and the bottom of the hull torn off. The aluminium overlay is split over tlie whole machine. The cabin floor has disappeared, and instruments and cables are hanging loose. Both port engines are split. Imperial Airways experts, whose inquiry is continuing in secret, refused to express any opinion as to why there is such ruin. It is understood that the Italian air authorities have already concluded that the accident was not due to engine breakdown or inefficiency on the part of the pilot or personnel.
