MISS GREY AGAIN.

BREAKS N.Z. RECORD.

SWIMMING TITLES.

INTERMEDIATE AND JUNIOR.

The breaking of the New Zealand record for the 220 yards free-style swim for intermediate girls by Miss Kathleen Grey, of the Otahuhu Club, was the outstanding feature of the Auckland intermediate and junior swimming championships held at the Tepid Baths last evening. Miss Grey, swimming in relaxed style, lowered the record by Is when she recorded 2.49 2-5. The previous record was held by Miss Islay Purdie, of Otago.

Miss Grey also won the 100 yards intermediate championship last night, but her time of 67 4-os was 3e slower than Miss Purdie's record for the distance.

The only other outstanding performance at the carnival was that of Mark Bell, who retained the 75 yards junior ibackstroke championship in 59 4-ss. There is no Dominion championship in this event, but the fastest time ever recorded in a provincial championship was that of IHall, of Otago, who completed the distance in 63 3-5s last December.
