AMATEUR COWBOYS.

FATAL HOLD-UP FIASCO. (Received 2 p.m.) EL' PASO (Texas), November 25. Two youths, attired in 10-gallon hats, chaps and boots, boarded the Southern Pacific passenger train eliciting smiles from fellow travellers who eyed them obviously as tender-foot cowboys, but amusement turned to consternation when the masqueraders herded the train crew and the passengers together at the point of the gun.

The robbers were later disclosed to be tyros. Tliev nervously shot dead a trainman when he made a false move, whereupon passengers leaped in, captured and so severely thrashed the pair that both are likely to die.
