Robertson, Adams and Mallett, and Misses Brown and Wilson; junior instructor, Miss C. M. Sheriff; delegate to Royal Life-saving Society. Mise G. Langtou : delegate to Surf Life-saving Association, Miss A. Merson; executive. Misses Merson, Tingle, Madden, Sheriff, Langton.

In the course of a lengthy report the many efforts of a ceaseless year of activity were reviewed, and congratulations were extended to Misses C. M. (Kate) Sheriff and A. Merson on the award to them of the coveted surf medallion.

The report referred to the club's tleep regret at the passing away of an energetic vice-president, Mrs. Kakewell.

Some of the more important undertak ings of the 1936-37 season were:—

On the invitation of the Devonport jubilee committee, the club gave a demonstration of land drill and water work on Devonport Beach. During the afternoon a small child had the misfortune to get Into difficulties in the water, and, h'ad it not ■been for the prompt action of Miss Sheriff, the situation may have ended in disaster.

At a carnival held in connection with the opening of the Milford pool, the club gave a novel event by staging a cavalcade of bathing costumes, dating from the year 1900.

The club travelled to Waiuku, where a demonstration of land drill and water work was given. Later in the same month a return visit was made by the Waiuku Club to Milford.

In January the club was represented at the Auckland provincial championships, held on Waihl Beach, where it again had the honour of winning for the fourth time in succcession the land-drill competition.

During the visit of the Australian surf team a carnival whh staged on Milford Beach at which many teams competed. On thin occasion the club had a decisive win over Wailii in the girls' event.

Throughout the summer, on Sundays and holidays, a strict patrol was kept on Milford Beach and swimiutng pool.
