OBITUARY.

MR. T. F. FRANKS. THAMES, this day. A resident of Thames for 42 years, Mr. Thomas Frederick Franks, died last evening. Born Ararat, West Australia, he came to New Zealand ae a boy, hie parents settling in Westport. After leaving school, he joined the Post Office staff, but later resigned and came to Thames, taking up goldmining. He worked for a number of years in Thames mines. Thirty years ago he was appointed manager of the Thames Club, a position which he held until failing health forced him to resign a few months ago. He is survived by hie widow, three sons and two daughters, Meedames J. Finnerty (Waikino)' and H. Philips (Auckland).
