INTOXICATED DRIVERS.

TWO LICENSES SUSPENDED.

Two drivers appeared before Mr. W. R. MeKean, S.M.. in the Otahuhu Magistrate's C'vurt this morning, charged with being intoxicated while in charge of motor vehicles.

Alexander James Gray, carpenter, of Manurewa, pleaded guilty to a charge of being intoxicated in charge of a car in Atkinson Avenue, Otahnhn, on November 0.

Sergeant J. Daly said Gray was not actually the driver of the car, but when arrested by Constable Archibald he was trying to start it. He was certified by a doctor to be not in a fit state to have charge of the car.

Gray w»s convicted, fined £20 and costs, and had his license cancelled for twelve months.

Alfred Talbot, farmer, of Manurewa, was charged on summons with being intoxicated in charge of a motor van on the Great South Road at Manurewa on October 20.

Inspector F. Jones said he noticed accused driving in an erratic manner. He stopped him, and finding him not in a fit state to drive, took him to a doctor, who certified him. He was convicted, fined £15 and costs, and prohibited from obtaining a license for twelve months.
