FEMALE PRINTERS.
DISPUTE REFERRED BACK.
ADJOURNMENT OF HEARING. The female printing workers' dispute, which came before Mr. R. E. Price, conciliation commissioner, this morning, was adjourned sine die until some pronouncement rejrardiiifr weekly wages has been made by the Arbitration Court. It is expected that a Dominion printing dispute, which will be heard in Wellington shortly, will provide a basis on which a settlement of the present dispute will be effected.
The dispute was referred back to-day to conciliation council because the rise in wages in the sections of the award applicable to juniors did not comply with the provisions of the Factories Act. The award was made early this year.
The employees',assessors were the Hon. B. Martin (advocate) and Misses M. A. Phills, E. Steed and C. Bremner. The employers were represented by Messrs. E. W. Clarkson (advocate), A. Dennison, T. J. Dawson, sen., and L. S. Stewart.
