EXPORTS AND IMPORTS.
NINE MONTHS AT FIJI. (Prom Our Own Correspondent.) SUVA, November 8. Trade figures for Fiji continue to mount. For the nine months ending September 30 the total imports were valued at £1,300,291, against £1,099,697 for 1936. Customs duties rose from f302,897 to £338,032.
In exports the increase was equally satisfactory. Sujjar rose from 80,382 tons, value £808,211, to 80,81*2 tons, value £907,128; copra from 24,013 tons, value £260,170, to 23,403 tons, value £344,021; gold from 12,007 ounces, value £02,205, to 13,841 ounces, value £107,546; other articles from £90,314 to £108,745.
On the other hand bananas fell from £63,520 to £48,705; molasses from £16,102 to £13,881; and trocas *hell from £12,448 to £12,286. The total exports rose from £1,348,971 to £1,542,972. For the period Customs duties were £64,738 above the estimates.
