MUNICIPAL ENTERPRISE.
Irrespective of the nature of any municipal enterprise, if it be a zoo. fish shop or even a farm, the story told is just the same; they all without exception reflect a loss. All other "business concerns, from citv companies to * one-man fish mart, must justify existence by at least supporting themselves." or else must close their doors. From a fruit shop to » hotel, if the business did not show a pront, the owner would shut the doors, and very quickly. The ratepayers of Auckland should begin to realise that" the council is gambling with their money, not the councillors' °J vn " , " J. YV. PAYNE.
