WOMEN'S INSTITUTES.
BRIDGE AFTERNOON.
Moist enjoyable was the bridge afternoon of the Auckland Women's Institute, held in the tea-rooms of George Court and Son on Wednesday. The tea-tables were artistically arranged with summer blooms and light greenery.
Among those present were: Mesdames C. A. Johnston, G. A. King, G. Harris, H. Lattaway, B. Gilfilten, H. W. Hawke, P. Hampton. K. Mattson. C. H. Black, A. Anderson, Turnbull, D. Montalk, C. L. Shepherd. W. F. Jones. R. Quin, J. Stone, R. P. Barr, H. A. Mattan, G. H. Anderson, Misses Turnbull, Reston, R. Gane, E. C. Johnson, E. Randal, E. Cab ill.
Glen Eden. —The usual meeting of the Glen Eden Women's Institute wa« held recently, when there was a very.good attendance. The president gave a resume of the A.D.F. conference held on October 2. A demonstration of bandaging was given by Mrs. Bollard. The secretary reported that donations had been forwarded to the Nora Lewis cot fund and to Mr. D. L. Thomas for the Makot:ai lencr station.
Ruapehu. —The meeting for October was held recently, when Mrs. Dellow presided. The hostesses were Mesdames H. Belk, W. O'Connor, P. Becker and Miss G. Anderson. The results of the October competition were Mrs. W. Dellow 1, Mm. E. C. Gibbs 2, P. Pragnell 3.
