(By Telegraph—Special to "Star.") ( HRISTCHURCH, this day. The New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club's spring meeting is being caneluded to-day. The weather is again fine, and the track in good order. The attendance is exceptionally large. A Dual Winner. Captain Bolt Registered his second win at the meeting when he scored in the Holm wood Handicap. He made up his ground in a gradual manner, and, taking the lead four furlongs from home, never afterwards looked like being beaten. Little Beta, who finished second, haw raced consistently at the meeting for a first, second and third. Lady Sonoma made lier only appearance at the meeting and had to take third place, after being prominent in the early statics. The well-hacked fancy Lament was under the whip three furlongs from home, and was decisively Ijeaten in the straight. Captain Bolt carried £034 10/ and Little Re:a £175 10/ and £430, and Lady Sonoma £142 10/ and £314.' Favourite Scores. Frisco Boy was backed down to a very short price on the win machine fn 'a field of eight in the Sprinters' Handicap, which he won easily. This it+ his second success at the meeting, and his two [>erformances have given strong evidence that nejft year he will j reach the best company. The second horse. Renown's Best, was back in seventh place three furlongs from home and was forced to travel on the outride of two sulkies to obtain a reasonable position. At the bend for home she finished well, but never threatened to overtake Frisco Boy. The Auckland mare. Kewpie's Bond, made most of the running and registered a creditable third. Elvo broke when holding a prominent position a furlong from home, and Casanova and On Parade Voke up at the start. Frisco Boy carried £1223 and £09!) 10/. Renown's Best £430 10/ and £820, and Kewpie's Bond £207 10/ and £530. Win was Unexpected. Pot Luck registered an unexpected victory in the Louisson Handicap, thus making his twentieth win since he began racing just over two years ago. He is one of the youngest horses to reach top class, and his performance to-day was full of merit. He has now competed in 54 races and has won £2782 in stakes. Glenrossie led the field past the stand the first time, and again the second time, collecting two lap prizes. He was followed closely all the way by King's Play, and was still the leader at the turn for home. Gamble made a break, and King's Plftv headed Glenrossie about 80yds from home. Pot Luck then collared King's Play, and came on to win bv three-quarters of a length from King's Play, with De Soto third, four lengths further back, with Lucky Jack fourth. Pot Luck carried £170 10/ and £4(i!). King's Play £759 10/ and £826, and De Soto £484 10/ and £651.
