WEATHER FORECAST.

FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. The Government Meteorologist issued to the "Auckland Star" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland province to as far south as Hamilton, Kawhia and Tauranga:— North-easterly winds to gales. Weather dull, misty and squally, with rain, and some heavy falls. Temperatures mild. Seas rough to high, but later decreasing, on the east coast, rather rough to rough off the west coast. The anti-cyclone mentioned yesterday has now moved to the eastward off New Zealand. The cyclone over the north Tasman is centred about 300 miles west of Cape Maria van Diemen and is moving south-south-eastward. A shallow westerly depression has advanced across the south Tasman Sea on to southern New Zealand. FOR THE DOMINION. For 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day:— The indications are for strong northeasterly winds to gales. Expect dull weather with much mist and fog in parts. Rain probable, with some heavy falls. The barometer has a falling tendency. Seas rough to high, but decreasing later. HAURAKI GULF CONDITIONS. The following report of weather conditions tn the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day:— Wind, east-north-east, strong; sea, rough; weather, overcast, with passing showers; visibility, poor; barometer, falling.
