CATTLE DISEASE RAGES IN ENGLAND.
FOOT AND MOUTH. Serious Trade Dislocation Anticipated. NIGHT AND DAY FIGHT. United Press Association.—Copyright. (Received 2.30 p.m.) LONDON, November 5. While smoke rises from the huge pyres of hundreds of slaughtered pigs and cattle, which had contracted foot-and-mouth disease, experts are fighting night and day in six danger zones in Surrey, Sussex, Kent and East Ariglia to stop the spread of the disease virus. Serious concern is felt as to the effect on the Christmas fat stock trade, which is already seriously disturbed. It is feared that London's great Christmas show will be abandoned. This would cause heavy losses to Smithfield Club and great dislocation to the cattle and dairying industry.
