SKATING CARNIVAL.

The popularity of skating in Auckland was shown by a crowd of 500 patrons which attended the Rousliworth Bros.' Skateways Rink, XJpper Khyber Pass Road, for their carnival this week. A programme of more than 20 events was run off in a 6%-hour session. Many novelty numbers were held. Principal results were:— Men's handicap, C. Buchanan; ladies' handicap. Miss Reed; highest toboggan jump, J. Mason; gliding, C. Buchanan and Miss McComb; two-stepping, R. Buchanan and Miss Howard; ladies' fancy dress. Miss Rita Harvey: men's fancy dress, A. Stewart; comic dress, V. McClelland; musical box, K. Goddisou.
