The chief feamree of t?ie eemi-final gallops in preparation for the Auckland Racing Club'e epring meeting were the six-furlong efforts of Kilonna and Royal Chief, and a solid round by Knight of Australia. Several other Mitcheleon Cup candidates worked well, while the two-year-olde Protector and Namara were reeponeible for emart triale. The course proper, on which the poles were out 50ft, provided good going.

Kelly (Gilchrwt) opened proceedings by running mix furlongu in 1.22 3-5. Captain Bruce (Wiggum) accompanied him over the laet half-mile, which took f>4 4-5s Knight of Australia (Cleaver) hit out much more freely than iwual while traversing a round in 2.7 4-5, the beet of the morning over the distance. He ran the laet six furlongs in 1.23 4-5, and the final three in 42 4-ne, finishing full of running. Royal Chief (Elliot) came home from the eix-furlong po«t in 1.20, being araieted over the laet half-mile by Protector (Wiggins), who took 52 4-.%?. Protector was on the bit at the finish, but Koval Chief wae inclined to loaf. Kilonsa (Gilchriet), after taking 26e for her first two furlongs, reeled off eix in 1.19. the beet of the morning over the distance. She carried a light weight, but nevertheless it was a good trial. The Mitcheleon Cup candidates Cerne Abbas (Wiggins). Fersen (Maneh), Boomerang (Cleaver) and Tybalt (Gilchiist) were bunched at the end'of a round in 2.11 2-5. They ran the last seven furlongs in 1.35 3-5, and the final half-mile in 54«. They were all going nicely at the end, and Boomerang, who lost nearly half a dozen lengths at the start, was right up at the post.

Royal Appellant (Buchanan) and Jolly Broney were on 'terms at the end ot six furlongs, which occupied 1.23 2-5, with My Money, who joined them over tiie laet half-mile, a couple of lengths away, thi e section taking 555. Palmiiit (Holland) finished well clear of Grand Dance (Williame) at the conclusion of eix in 1.26 1-5. They ran the first three in 40 3-ss, and Mere easing up over the latter stages. Bronze Wing (Gilchriet) worked very freely over five furlongs, which took 1.5 2-5. It was a good effort for a novice. Cardsharper (Cleaver) wae given useful work over a round, which he covered in 2.16 3-5, hie last half-mile taking 54 3-ss. Droll (P. Fearn) finished up useful work by covering her last seven furlongs in 1.37 2-5, and the final half-mile in 54 4-5«. Stretto (Marsh) was going nicely alongside Glen Abb (Wiggins) at the conrhmion of five furlongs in 1.5 4-5. They ran the first two in 265. and both had something in reserve at the finish. Namara (Gray) and Wynardo (Cleaver), going from practically a standing start, were timed to run half a mile in 52 2-ss. Namara. who had the worst of tVie weights, finished clear of hi« companion. Hot Shot (Wiggins) wa« timed to run the last three furlonps of hi« work in 40 4-ss, and Peter's Pence (Marsh) took 40 3-5s for a similar task. Kiltowyn (Manth) jumped away at the mik- and a quarter post, and ran home in 221 1-5, the last round talcing 2.10 3-5. He ran the final half-mile in 55 l-ss. and wae going on nicely at the finish. The stablemates Trevace (Tremain) and Aero Queen came home from the three-furlong post in 41 2-ss. After schooling Lord Val fßaker) completed seven furlongs in 1..38 3-5. running his last half-mile in 55 4-ss. Silver Cloud (Manson). after going away slowly, ran half a mile in 565. the last three taking 42e. Ofcmaha fElliot) finished in front of Sieura fTremnini after completing six furlonors in 1.22 3-5.

Englishman (Tremain) was going easily to travprse the last seven furlongs of hie work in 1.42 4-5. All Irish (Wiggins) completed a round in 2.16 2-5, the last six furlongs taking 1.27 2-5.

Jumpers. Lord Val (Baker) wae sent over four hurdles in the centre, giving an attractive exhibition. Sir Russell (Clarke), Gowanlea (Olive) and United (Williams) were associated over the eame fences. United wae in front at the laet fence, when he came to grief, falling heavily. Hie rider wae bruieed, but recovered shortly afterwards. The other pair fenced safely. Adeum (Baker) and Domo (Clarke) went once round over the eteeplechaee course, finishing up at the brush fence at the mile post. Botb jumped well, Adeum being in charge throughout.

ARRIVALS.

The first of the visiting horsee to arrive are Minga, Fabric, Entail and Smoke Screen, who reached Ellerelie this morning.
