WEATHER FORECAST.
FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. The Government Meteorologist issued to the "Auckland Star" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland province to as far south as Hamilton, Kawhia and Tauranga. Moderate to strong, but gradually decreasing south-westerly winds. Weather mainly fair and cool, but with some occasional light showers. Seas rather rough to rough on the west coast and moderate on the east coast. A depression passed eastward off the Dominion last night and an anticyclone is approaching across the Tasman Sea. FOR THE DOMINION. For 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day:— The indications are for moderate to strong, but gradually decreasing, south-westerly winds. Weather probably cool and changeable, with occasional scattered showers, but improving. The barometer has a rising tendency. Seas moderate. HAURAKI GULF CONDITIONS. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day:— Wind, westerly, fresh; sea, moderate; weather, cloudy, but fine; visibility, good; barometer, steady.
