HOSPITAL AUXILIARY.

TWO ACTIVE MONTHS. FOOD AND CLOTHING DISTRIBUTED. That two active months had been experienced by the Auckland Hospital was revealed at the meeting of the Auckland Hospital Auxiliary in the Nurses' Social Hall. Xurses" Home. A busy time had been spent in tho providing of warm clothes far needy patients and the distribution of nourishing foods., milk, medicine and groceries. The president, Mrs. A. D. Campbell, was in the chair. In reporting on the work of the auxiliary. Mrs. Campbell congratulated the presidents, of the various branches on the wonderful work that their members, had put up during the last twelve months. Mrs. Campbe'l I had attended the annual meetings of the branches, and spoke with appreciation of the help they had been to the main branch. In reporting on the canteen that wal* opened six weeks ajro, Mr*. Campbell went on t° say that this new venture had proved to be what the patients had been in need of for some time. It is spoken of with great appreciation by every patient that enters. In reporting on the work for the past two months the secretary. Miss L. Curson, stated that a very busy time had been experienced in assisting outpatients. A total of 796 garments had been given out from the depot, while 284 families had been assisted. Many tubercular patients hail been assisted with extra nourishment and warm clothing, through the sister in charge of the tul>erculosis dispensary. Patients of the district nurses had also been supplied with extra nourishment, such as malted milk and malt and cod liver oil. Orders had been given for tram fares, milk, eggs, butter and footwear. The usual monthly parcels had been received from the Mount Eden branch. Parcels of made-up parments had been received from the following institutes: Waiuku. Titirangi. Kohikohi, New Lynn. Te Atatti and Henderson. All subcommittees of the following branches. Mount Eden. Onehunea. mental, district nurses, seeing circle and the main branch, were carrying out their respective duties at the Mental Hospital. Kingseat. Alexandra Convalescent Home. Epsom Infirmarv and T.B. shelters. Wards at the Auckland Hospital had been supplied with dre^ins , gown*. pyjairßs. nisrhtgowns. bed jackets, slippers, flannels and bed socks. Forty-two patients had been sriven complete outfits of clothing when leaving the hospital.
