BIRKENHEAD BALL.
FIRE BRIGADE FUNCTION. The Birkenhead Foresters' Hall wa3 crowded with dancers recently on the occasion of the ball in celebration of the seventh anniversary of the Birkenhead Fire Brigade. The Birkenhead Fire Board was represented by Messrs. Albert Hadfield (member) and H. Kemp (secretary), the Northcote Fire Brigade by Superintendent W. P. Roberts, and the Takapuna Fire Brigade by deputy-Superintendent G. Moss. The gathering was welcomed by Superintendent H. Wilkins, who was assisted by Mrs. Wilkins as hostess. The master of ceremonies was deputySuperintendent W. A. Roberts. The ladies' committee comprised: Mesdames W. A. Roberts, R. Cairns, G. Davis, H. W. Stott, G. M. Turner, R. Harkin, D. M. Walker, W. Atkins, A. E. Wilkins, H. Eccles, C. Rose, E. Roberts. Among those present were. Mesdames W. P. Roberts (Northcote), W. P. Linehan (Northcote), R. O'Callahan, A. F. Wilkins. A. Burford, B. Roberts, A. Norton, A. Wrightson, A. Skinner, M. Good, F. Totliill; Kenworthy, W. Copeland, C. Messenger, Burns, D. Kelly. F. Lees, Beck man, F. Utting, R. Salt, Robinson, Misses Dorothy Wiseman (Takapuna), Phyllis Linelian (Northcote), D. Marbeck, E. Wilkins, Audrey Mack, N. Organ, P. Good, A. Wilkins, Norma Campbell, L. Ripley.
