AN AVONDALE GRIEVANCE.

I haTe been reading- in the "Star" lately about trolley buses for tlie Tamaki Drive. and about peak-loading problems. Well. I live at Avondale. and it is about time the Transport Board did something about our trams. For months past I have had to stand or wait for long iJferiods for other trams. Tra»n after tram parses, too full to pick tip Avonaale people, "while the tram carries Kingsland, Morningside and Mount Albert passengers, the Mount Albert trams going past almost empty. Either more trams should be put on for Avondale, or all passengers charged the Avondale fare. We would then be able to get home to Avondale in our own trams, for no others are of any use to us. Blockhouse Bay residents have missed their buses through Avondale trams being loaded with people for Mount Albert. AN" AVONDALE RESIDENT.

[The manager of the Auckland Tramways, ilr. A. E. Ford, said this morning that Avondale had an excellent service and the foregoing was the first complaint he had heard for a long time. Two minimum fare cars wero in operation in the evening, one leaving the city at 5.14 o'clock and the other twenty minutes later. He was quite prepared to investigate the present position with a view to ascertaining whether more minimum fare cars were required on the route.—Ed.]
